1 Peter 1:10-16
Psalm 98
Mark 10:28-31
Therefore, gird up the loins of your mind, live soberly and set your hopes completely on the grace…of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter: 1:13
“Many who are first will be last and the last will be first”. Mk 10:31
Lord, you know the expression, “it’s all about me.” When I put myself first at the expense of others, I am not following you. You never put yourself first. Lord, you call us to always look to you for security and blessings. The goods and comforts of this world count as nothing in the next. Looking for security in anything other than you is useless although we do it all the time. Lord, you are pleased with us when, even in small ways, we look to surrender to you and to the needs of our brothers and sisters. Tomorrow Lent starts so today is a good time to reflect on what I need to fast from to come closer to you. Lord, today may I accept the opportunities you place before me to choose the goods and ways of your kingdom. May I not hesitate to work and live for the good of others and reject the idea that it’s all about me. I believe I will be well taken care of as your disciple. Whether first or last in your kingdom, may I rest with you in eternity. Amen.
