James 1:12-18

Psalm 94

Mark 8:14-21

…all good giving and every perfect gift is from above, Ja. 1:17

When cares abound within me, your comfort gladdens my soul.  Ps. 94:19

Lord, your word today teaches us that our generous Father of lights provides all we need to be what He created us to be. He is not like the sun or moon that rises then sets. He is unchangeable and entirely consistent in pouring out his grace to strengthen us for this pilgrimage of life. Likewise, he protects us in times of temptation if we turn to him for help. Your word is a perfect source of truth to guide us and form us in our walk as your disciples. Since you became one of us and lived among us you know well what we must deal with in life. We are so easily deceived by the Evil One to throw up our hands and give in to his lies and deceptions. James tells us that when we persevere in our faith and love you we will inherit the crown of life.  (vs. 12) Thank you Lord for giving me what I need, not what I want. I pray for all who don’t know you or have walked away from you. There are some in my family who have bought the Devil’s lies and are sadly in the danger of darkness. I still love them and am anxious for them to come home.  Amen
