Psalm 132
Mark 6:53-56
…since the Lord’s glory had filled the temple of the Lord. 1 Kgs. 8:11
…and as many as touched it were healed. Mk. 6:56
Lord, the people in Solomon’s time were anxious to have you in the temple. You were present to them in the cloud in the temple. In your time, the people wanted to be near you, to touch you and to be healed and fed by you. Then you were physically present to them as you traveled around the Sea of Galilee. There was so much excitement and interest in your presence among them. Today you are no longer limited to a temple or a human body. You are present in every tabernacle, on every altar at Mass and you come to meet us in the sacraments of your Church. You can be everywhere at every time. We are so blessed because you are accessible to all your children. Help me to never take this familiarity for granted. Guide my heart to greater faith by prayer before your Blessed Sacrament in Eucharistic Adoration. Your presence in our midst is a cause for great hope and celebration. We are never alone in our infirmity but always held by one who knows our needs and offers us new life. I invite you into my home too. You are welcome anytime. Amen.
