1 Samuel 24:3-21

Psalm 57

Mark 3:13-19

May God send help from heaven to save me.  Psalm 57:4

Jesus went up the mountain and summoned those whom he wanted… Mk. 3:13

Lord, did whoever wrote this Psalm have any idea what kind of help the Father would send? I doubt it.  It was you the Father sent to save us. His own Son became one of us to die so we could live. So battered and bruised was our relationship with God that it took his only Son to pay the ultimate price to restore us to him. What an answer to a prayer! Lord, on this day when we lift up to you all the unborn children in the womb, we plead with you to save us. They are the most innocent and most vulnerable of all your children. You have created and summoned these babies because you want them to share your life. Lord, I beg you to forgive their scandalous sin of abortion. Forgive the mothers and fathers who for whatever reason made their deadly decision. Protect and save all the babies who have no one else to turn to. Lord, inspire the American people and our leaders to respect, honor and protect the awesome gift of life which comes from your hand. Then we can chant your praise among all the nations.  Amen.
