1 John 4:11-18

Psalm 72

Mark 6:45-52

There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear…1 John 4:18

“Take courage, it is I, do not be afraid!” Mk. 6:50

Lord, I admit to being afraid quite often. I am afraid of broken relationships. I am afraid for the safety of my children. I am afraid there isn’t enough in the checkbook to pay my bills. I am afraid I will fail at my job and be let go. I am afraid that crime or the corona virus will visit me or my family. The apostles were battling a vicious storm and were in danger. They were experienced sailors, but they could not cope with the wind and the waves. You saw their struggle and I think sensed their panic. You came to them when they needed you. You assured them that you were the great I AM, the very Son of God.  When you entered their boat, the wind calmed down. They were “completely astounded.” Lord, I believe you are watching me all the time.  You know when I am in danger, worried or fearful. Please come to me and get into my boat. Help me with whatever I will face today. You know I sometimes fail at love.  Show me your perfect love and that will drive out my fear.  St. John Neumann pray for us.  Amen.
