Isaiah 54:1-10
Psalm 30
Luke 7:24-30
My love will never leave you Isaiah 54:10
Lord, to be honest there are times when I feel far from your love. I can experience trouble and distress and fail to see your love in the events of the day. I watch the news on TV and struggle to see your presence in the broken-hearted and cruelty of our world today. Through the prophet Isaiah you made a solemn promise that your love would never leave us no matter how tough things get. Despite my sinful choices and selfish actions, you are near and offer me another way. A way of forgiveness and reconciliation with family and those around me. I believe you will fulfill all your promises that you will take pity on me and give me your enduring love. During this Advent season I pray to grow in my awareness that you are in control, you can make good come from evil and that you only want what is best for me even when it seems to include suffering. May your covenant of peace never be shaken or taken from me. Fill up the emptiness in my heart, dear Lord, with your never ending love. Amen
