Isaiah 48:17-19

Psalm 1

Matthew 11:16-19

I, the Lord your God, teach you what is for your good…”  Is. 48:17

Lord, most of us think we know what is good for us. We sometimes get it right, sometimes not. But you, Lord, know perfectly what is for our good. You see the big picture, the whole person, body, mind and spirit. You see where we are full, complete and holy. You also see where we need to change, how we need to grow.  Out of your total love for us you only want what is best for each of us. You only want what brings us closer to you. You teach us to listen and to follow your words of life. If we do so faithfully, we will prosper. Maybe not in the worldly ways we may choose but in ways that form us into the persons you created us to be. Lord, in this Advent time of renewal open my heart and mind to surrender to whatever you want that is for my good.  Even if it hurts or requires me to do with less, I believe the outcome will be for the best. Thank you, Jesus, for doing for me what is truly best even if I don’t see it that way. I trust in you completely.  Amen.
