“Here is your God”! Is. 40:9
Lord, through your prophet you tell us that you are the answer to all our questions and fears and worries over the misery of our lives. The world seems to be going crazy and nothing seems to stand in its way . Ah, but my faith is where I must turn. I must cling to a conviction that you are here. You are not distant; you have not abandoned us. The joy that we celebrated on Sunday of this week continues today. Advent is a time of hope to be comforted that you are near and will always seek us out if we ever get separated from you. The turmoil and evil in our world is our own creation. Our ways are not your ways. How can we be healed or consoled to experience you, see your power, rest in your peace? Lord, today give me a new vision of your presence in all the turmoil of our age. Bring us a greater trust that you have won the victory over sin and death forever. Lord, thank you for being here near me. Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice. St. Ambrose pray for me. Amen.
