Jesus…resolutely determined to journey to Jerusalem… Lk. 9:51

Lord, life is like a journey. From the moment we are conceived in the womb to death we are constantly on the move in our development as human beings. We move through our years of education on to careers in the workplace. We make friends, have families and eventually retire.  We also are on a spiritual journey.  You have called us to be your disciples and to take up our cross and follow you. This calls for nurturing your gift of faith and growing in our obedience to your word. Lord, I too want to walk with you. Your disciples gradually came to understand who you were and your purpose among us.  I too hope to become more trusting, more faithful and more loving as I move toward my eternal home. Give me the same “resolute” commitment you had so I can become the person you created me to be. I’m not there yet, Jesus. Thank you for being patient with me and for helping me up when I fall. With the help of your Holy Spirit and the graces of the Sacraments of your Church I can reach my destination which is union with you and my Father.  Amen.
