Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother…  John 19:25

Lord, your Mother is your first and most faithful disciple. How great must have been her torment to witness your suffering on the cross. I cannot imagine seeing my child suffer like you. Yet she knew why you had come among us. She understood your mission of salvation. She realized how much you loved.  Thank you for giving me such a mother. She still stands vigil near you. Her heart is so very close to yours.  She continues to be united to you in complete faith and love. Help me today to imitate her faithfulness, her total trust in you. Give me the gift of unconditional surrender to God’s will for my life as she did.  My prayer today is for the humility and strength to join my sufferings to yours. To walk with you. To gain the wisdom of heart like Mary has. I offer my sufferings in the hope I will learn obedience and submission to our Father’s will. I want to learn from Mary. She is welcome into my home anytime. O sweet Mother! Font of love, touch my spirit from above, make my heart with yours accord. (Sequence) Amen.
