Exodus 34:29-35
Psalm 99
Matthew 13:44-46
“…out of joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.” Mt. 13:44
Lord, when a man or woman chooses to complete a marathon race they must put themselves totally into the training needed to run the race. They must run the hills, do the speed work, and long distances. Eating and drinking right and even resting become so important for success. Just about everything in their lives change. The person finding the treasure and the pearl sell everything they have to obtain the treasure and the stone. Lord, your parable leads us to a decision to invest everything we are to the will of God and to allow his kingdom to reign in our hearts. With the help of your grace everything we do reflects the change that comes over us when we give ourselves completely to you. Each day, Lord, I offer you all my prayers, works, sufferings and joys to your most Sacred Heart. You gave yourself completely so that I may live forever. I surrender all I am to you, dear Jesus, so that I may bear the fruit of your kingdom in whatever way you desire. I pray that this abandonment will be a joyful encounter with you and your grace. Amen.
