Acts of the Apostles: 25:13-21

Psalm 103

John 21:15-19

As far as the east is from the west, so far has he put our transgressions from us.  Ps. 103:12

“…Feed my lambs.”  John 21:15

Lord, your chosen Apostle Peter had every reason to believe that by his three-fold denial of you he no longer had your trust. I think he may have expected a strong rebuke and be cut off from your friendship. Instead you forgave him, gave him encouragement, and a mandate. You even invited him to be a Shepherd to your flock. You asked him to care for your believers as a “Good Shepherd” like you were. It all came from your belief in him, his love for you, and his response to receiving the Holy Spirit.  Lord, may I never doubt your mercy, your kindness and your ability to change human hearts. You call me to be a shepherd of kindness, faithfulness to your commandments and a witness to your love for the lost souls you put into my life. With the help of your grace and the guidance of the Holy Spirit I can feed and tend your sheep in ways maybe only I can. You will never ask me to do anything that you don’t help me to achieve. I am not on my own for your power is with me.  Amen.  Alleluia
