Acts 5:34-42

Psalm 27

John 6: 1-15

“…There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish…” John 6:9

Lord, this boy had no idea his lunch would be used by you to feed so many.  How surprised he must have been to see what his small offering could do in your hands. We tell ourselves all the time: “there’s not enough to go around,” or “the problem is too big” or “the cost is too high.” So we do nothing. Using our own human resources, we are right. But looking at needs with the eyes of faith changes our perspective. Placing our resources, our bank accounts, and our small efforts in your hands, like this boy did, changes things. You can use our offerings to accomplish so much more than we can acting alone. Maybe all you intend is for us to make a start, take a small step, then you will take it from there. Lord, today I offer you complete use of what I have, my barley loaves and fish, to do what you will. I trust in you to put my gifts to great use and to multiply them to feed the needs of many.  I thank you for letting me play a part in your next miracle.  Amen.
