Acts of the Apostles 3:1-10

Psalm 105

Luke 24:13-35

“I have neither silver or gold, but what I do have I give to you:” Acts3:6

“But we were hoping that he would be the one to redeem Israel…”  Lk. 24:21

Lord we often expect too little of you.  You want to give us so much but we are satisfied with so much less. The beggar wanted a few coins from Peter and John so he could buy lunch but with Peter’s cooperation with God and the beggar’s faith he could walk and dance and jump for the first time in his life. The two disciples on the way to Emmaus told their unrecognized companion they hoped Jesus would free Israel from the occupation of the Romans. But you freed them from their sins with your death on the cross and opened the way to eternal life for them with your Resurrection.  In both cases they aimed too low and received so much more than they expected.  The two disciples were blessed with your word being explained to them and then they shared a Eucharistic meal with you the Lord of Lords. In return all you want from us is our entire heart, body and mind.  This we can give you each day. May I always begin each day with a Morning offering of all my prayers, hopes, joys and sorrows. I never want to expect too little from you.  You are all I ever need.  Amen Alleluia.
