February 6, 2021 Saturday of the 4th Week in Ordinary Time-B ST. PAUL MIKI AND COMPANIONS, MARTYRS
Hebrews 13:15-17, 20-21
Psalm 23
Mark 6:30-34
May the God of peace…furnish you with all that is good, that you may do his will. Heb. 13:20-21
Jesus said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a deserted placed and rest a while.” Mk. 6:31
Lord, you joyfully shared in the stories your excited disciples told of their first missionary trip. You must have been very proud of them. You were pleased, maybe not so much at what they accomplished in healing people and driving out demons, but in that they trusted in your grace and depended on God for strength and power. You also saw that they were exhausted from their labors. They needed time to rest and recharge. The needs of the people were another priority for you. Lord, there are times when I feel overwhelmed by the life you have called me to. Work, parenting, and serving others can take a toll on my energy. I too need to rest with you and allow you to speak encouraging words to me. I believe that you will always supply the grace, energy and wisdom I need to do the work you have created me to do. I also believe that you know when I am tapped out and need to hit the pause button. Speak to me in the quiet times so I can grow in faith and discernment to make good choices. St. Paul Miki and companions, pray for me. Amen.
