Isaiah 26:1-6

Psalm 118

Matthew 7:21, 24-27

Open up the gates to let in a nation that is just, one that keeps faith.  Is. 26:2

“Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock.”  Mt. 7:24

Lord, strong, secure foundations are necessary for every building and every nation. Your word today encourages us to build our lives and our country on the foundation of you and your word. On what is my life built? To what do I order my days? Is following the will of God first and foremost for me? Does everything I do flow from my trust in you? The world tells me to build my house on achievement, wealth, power and control. These are like sand that can be washed away in a storm and will not support me to the end. Lord, deep inside I know you don’t care at all how much money or power or influence I have. You care how I live in humility, obedience and faithfulness. You want me to trust you and not the world. I pray for our nation that it can return to the justice and divine trust it was founded on. Lord, my prayer today is that I rely more upon you than myself. I look forward to your Holy Spirit guiding my decisions and actions this day. Jesus, I trust you as my foundation.  Be my rock foundation, Lord.  Amen.
