“I have come to set the earth on fire… Lk. 12:49
Lord, I read that your power in me can do more than I could ever ask for or even imagine. I know your power is the greatest force in the universe. But when it is within me doesn’t that put limits on it? After all, I am a weak and often quite uncooperative vessel for your power. But I do believe that together, you and I can do so much. And your will is that much is to be done. I know that I doubt, I fear, I can be lazy or uncooperative. So let me today realize when I am resisting or stifling the power of your Spirit. Lord, enkindle in me the fire of your love. Help me to see how your power can do so much and strengthen me to be the instrument of that power that is mysterious yet very real. O Lord, I pray for the confidence, the faith and the trust to be your power. I will stay faithful and leave the results to you. Surprise me today with what your power can accomplish. Thank you for your plans for me. St. John Paul prays for us. Amen.
