Send forth your light and your fidelity; they shall lead me on Ps. 43a:3
“I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold. These also I must lead… John 10:16
Lord, when you spoke to your disciples using the image of the Good Shepherd you said that a good shepherd lays down his life for all his sheep. They may not have thought that one day Peter would be led to include Gentiles in your infant church. Peter was a man of prayer and he had received your Holy Spirit. It was that Spirit that spoke to him in his dream. It was that Spirit that brought the three men to him and the rest of that momentous decision is history. Lord, I am blessed to receive that same Spirit at my Baptism so what Peter did that day made my entry into your flock possible so much later. It resulted in the opportunity for salvation of all people today. Lord, I believe you speak to me in many ways now. Maybe you will use a dream or maybe a note from a friend. Maybe a scripture verse or an enduring thought while I’m praying. Speak to me Lord, your servant is listening. Please be patient with me because I allow so many distractions that can block my receiving your word. Don’t give up on me because I love to hear your voice. Amen Alleluia
