May 2, 2020 Saturday of the 3rd Week of Easter –A ST. ATHANASIUS, BISHOP, DOCTOR OF THE CHURCH
Acts of the Apostles: 9:31-42
Psalm 116
John 6:60-69
How do I make a return to the Lord for all the good he has done for me? Ps. 116:12
Lord, your word today brings to mind how powerful the Holy Spirit worked through St. Peter when he healed a man who was paralyzed and raised a dead woman to life. Your word also brings to mind the even greater miracle of the Eucharist when we believe that the bread and wine become your body and blood. So how can I make a return to you for all the good you have done for me? You suffered and died on the cross to erase my sins. Sacred scripture tells the salvation story and teaches us how to follow you in the new life you give us in Baptism. We have the other sacraments of the Church. You have given each of us the years of our lives to become obedient children of God our Father. You have brought men and women together in marriage to continue the creation of the human race. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you have done for me. I admit to taking so much in my life for granted so I beg you to bring to my mind the blessings and gifts that you shower on me each day. You have kept your promises so give me the grace so I can keep mine and continue to be your faithful child. St. Athanasius pray for me. Amen. Alleluia
