Acts of the Apostles 5: 17-26

Psalm 34

John 3:16-21

God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten son… John 3:16

Lord, for many of us this is our most memorable and favorite gospel verse. It stands to reason because it tells how much our Creator loves his creation. But we have been disobedient children and lost the inherent dignity we were created with. Your Incarnation and resurrection erased that failure and restored to us the dignity we were created with. Formed in the image and likeness of God, even with all our faults the Father still loves us. We are the apple of his eye. Isaiah says the reason is because we are precious and glorious to him and because he loves us. Lord, despite the effects of this virus we have hope because we know you will deliver us from it if we stay faithful to you. I know there are people having a very difficult time with the “stay at home order”, they worry about their jobs, and how they can pay their bills and the health of their parents and grandparents. I lift up a prayer today to you for all those who are suffering the loss of a loved one or even just can’t take the isolation any more. May our economy recover quickly and our scientists develop a vaccine to prevent a similar pandemic in the future. I hope in you Lord and I trust in your mighty love for us.  Amen alleluia
