Psalm 8
Luke 24:35-48
“Peace be with you.” Lk. 24:36
Lord, I believe these would be the words of greeting you would speak if you appeared to people today. There is so much in our lives that tries to steal our peace. The disciples didn’t know what to believe and what would become of them. Today our churches are closed, the death toll rises each day, and we stay away from each other and wear a mask for protection of ourselves and others. So why should we have peace in this time? You have conquered death, sin and are more powerful than this tiny virus. Can we really have your peace in our hearts as we suffer the disease, unemployment, loneliness and fear? Yes. You have risen and can protect us and guide us through any trouble. You are our rock of refuge, our harbor of safety in a storm and you only want the best for each of us. So when times get tough, I will look into my heart for the peace you have planted there. I am not alone in this battle. I trust that you will rescue my family and provide for us whatever we need. Thank you Jesus for caring enough about me to give me your peace. Amen Alleluia
