Acts of the Apostles 2:36-41

Psalm 33

John 20:11-18

Mary Magdalene stayed outside the tomb weeping.  John 20:11

Lord, Mary Magdalene was weeping because she thought your body had been stolen. She looked at the cross as the end of your life and her happy friendship with you.  We don’t weep on this day because you have risen and have chosen each of us to make your good news known to everyone.  You asked Mary to spread the word that you were alive to the Apostles who would then with the aid of the Holy Spirit go on to bring over three thousand persons to believe in you. What an astounding catch!  It started with one person, then 12 more and on to 3,000. These in turn brought their families and friends the joyful news of salvation. We have such good news, so let’s share it in these dark times. There is so much darkness and helplessness in the world today. People are yearning to hear that God loves them and is aware of their suffering. He will provide protection for them from the evil one and from the depression on social isolation. Help me to tell someone today that I am not afraid of the virus because I’ve been saved by the cross and Resurrection of the Lord.  Amen Alleluia
