You know the time… Rom 13:11
“You also must be prepared…” Mt. 24:44Lord, for many the hectic season has begun. Preparing for Christmas can be an all-consuming effort with only a few weeks to go. It is right that we make ready for this beautiful family celebration of your birth among us. In your word today we are cautioned not to let the distractions of the secular world consume us. It is more important to us at this time to prepare ourselves for our spiritual encounter with you. Help me to slow down and take some time each day to pray and reflect on your word in the bible. Show me a way to give a little of myself to make life better for someone who is struggling. May I accept your abundant mercy in the sacrament of Reconciliation and the strength to extend forgiveness to someone who has hurt me. Speak to my heart and mind as I pause to adore you during Eucharistic Adoration. Show me who needs my attention and love. Most of all build-up my faith, trust and hope in you as my Lord and Savior. I want this to be my very best Advent ever. Amen.
