Revelation 10:8-11

Psalm 119

Luke 19:45-48

Teaching from your lips is more precious to me than heaps of silver and gold.  Psalm 119:72

Every day he was teaching in the temple area.  Luke 19:47

Lord, who wouldn’t like a nice pile of silver and gold?  Receiving an inheritance or winning the lottery could set one up for life.  You have given us something better than a stack of money.  In the last few days of your time on earth it was a priority for you to teach the people in the temple.  They loved hearing you tell them about their Father in heaven.  They hung on your words and commands to love.  You blessed them by encouraging them in their suffering.  They heard words of hope about the kingdom to come.  You may even have hinted at the great sacrifice you would give in a few days on Calvary.  Lord Jesus, money only buys temporary happiness, but your truth is eternal.  Help me today to receive your word with joy.  Teach my heart what is truly important.  Guide me to set my priorities in life under your instruction.  Fill me with your strength and direct my heart today with your teaching.  St. Ceclia pray for us.  Amen
