Lord, next week we celebrate Thanksgiving, a national holiday when we give thanks for all your blessings. Today I offer you gratitude for all the gifts, blessings and opportunities you have sent to me of which I am not aware. I give you thanks for, unknown to me, the times you preserved me from death, disease or danger. Every breath I take and every beat of my heart is a gift from you. You have made me successful in so many ways that I can’t count them. I have taken credit for so much that I couldn’t have done without your help. Many times when things went wrong in my life you were there to strengthen me, encourage me and to show me you had a purpose for my suffering. When I have to wait for your answer to my prayers you continue to build my faith and trust in your providence. Nothing that happens to me or nothing I do is too small for you to notice. You are so kind to me every moment of my life. May I use these moments to praise you and to serve you in whatever ways you have called me. May every day of my life be Thanksgiving day. Amen.
