Ephesians 6:1-9
Psalm 145
Luke 13:22-30
“Lord, will only a few people be saved?” Luke 13:23
Lord, when you speak about judgement and salvation I sometimes can be disturbed by your message. How many of us will join you in heaven is a question very much on our minds. We can lull ourselves into complacency and false confidence very often believing that everyone’s entry is automatic and guaranteed. You didn’t directly answer the question put to you but instead you urged your followers to continue working toward the salvation you would earn for them on the cross. You tell us to repent, to believe, to be good stewards of the time, talent and treasure the Father has blessed each of us with. And to do it now, today. Lord, help me to surrender to you today and not put off to tomorrow. The gate to salvation may be a narrow one but with the help of your grace and the guidance of your truth I can enter. Lord, you are the gate for you are the way, the truth and the life. All come to the Father through you. Amen.
