“How narrow and constricted the road that leads to life.” Matthew 7:14
Lord, it takes years of study to become a doctor. It takes years of training and practice to become a professional athlete. Both require discipline and constant effort to become and stay successful. Why should living as your disciple be any easier? If the road to you is narrow it requires extra attention not to get lost or drive into the ditch. Your Kingdom’s standards are high. Your expectations for us are lofty. But so is your grace. We don’t always get it right and we often lose our way on our road trip to you. The way is not only narrow, but there are also many dangers on the way. The evil one presents very attractive side trips and detours that lead to nowhere. Lord, your word is my GPS as we travel to you. Your sacraments are the nourishment and healing we need to continue. Lord, as long as we travel with you, we can’t get lost and will arrive home safely. Thank you for being our traveling companion. Amen
