Sirach 48:1-14

Psalm 97

Matthew 6:7-15

“Give us today our daily bread…”  Matthew 6:11

Lord, this part of the prayer you gave us is like us offering the Father a blank check.  He can write whatever amount he wants on the check.  Our Father can look at his beloved children and give us exactly what we need most when we need it.  He chooses perfectly from his treasure of material and spiritual blessings and places them here for us.  Since he knows what is always best for us, we can trust in His awesome generosity.  Sometimes the kind of bread he provides is obvious and clear, sometimes it’s subtle and hidden.  You know Lord, trusting in the wisdom and love of the Father takes the pressure off me to try to find the right words or to figure out what to pray for.  Whatever you wish to send my way today is fine with me because I trust in you.  Even if it be a call to change, an opportunity, or a challenge, I know that your grace will always come with it.  Thank you, Holy Father, for the daily bread you provide me today, whatever form it may be.  May your kingdom thrive and grow to its fullest within me.  Amen.
