He will rejoice over you with gladness…He will sing joyfully because of you… Zep 3:17
Lord, I can see you rejoicing with gladness and singing for joy because of Mary. I can understand how you would be overjoyed with the really holy people, like your saints and martyrs. But is this how you look at me? Your prophet said that you are in our midst and have come to save us. How do you celebrate your love for me? I can’t believe that you celebrate when I fail to live as you want. When I offend you with my sins does it not diminish your rejoicing or celebrating? Can you appreciate that I find it hard to believe that the one who created all there is and sustains it in being rejoices and sings over me? Dear Jesus, I am so very blessed because of your love, care, and concern for me. It takes faith to truly grasp your faithfulness and desire for me. Thank you seems too little a response. I love you, dear Lord, and would like to hear you sing a song for me. Like Mary my soul proclaims the greatness of my Lord. Mother of my Lord and my God, pray for me. Amen.
