The hand of the Lord was with them … Acts 11:21

Lord, in your day Jews and Gentiles were strange bedfellows with many differences.  They were the odd couple that could not tolerate each other.  That is until your Spirit entered the game.  Your awesome plan had those who were fleeing persecution become witnesses to you in many lands.  Your good news was spread to places and people that had never heard of it.  And this witness bore much fruit.   You know that today Lord there are so many differences among us.  We are such a divided family.  Lord, help us to accept the graces offered by your Spirit to accept and respect each other.  Help us to listen to those with whom we disagree.  Our Holy Father urges us to “give each other that spiritual embrace and allow the Lord to complete the work he has begun”.  Lord, lay your healing hand upon our world.   May all of us remain faithful to you in firmness of heart.  Amen.
