Whatever villages or towns or countryside he entered… Mk. 6:56
Lord, the presence of God, symbolized by the cloud filled the temple of Solomon. To worship God, the people of the Old Testament traveled to Jerusalem to the temple. You traveled from town-to-town teaching, comforting and healing the people. The people of your time could only hear you and be touched by you when you came through their town. You could only be with your people in one place at a time. How blessed we are today that you now can be everywhere at all times. You are as close to us as we want you to be. You feed us with your word every time we open the scriptures. You touch our lives with your peace in prayer time. We can adore you in the Blessed Sacrament in our churches. In the sacraments of Baptism and Reconciliation you heal us for eternal life. Of course, you are closest to us in the holy Sacrament of the Eucharist. Lord, may I today seek your presence in all my thoughts, words, and deeds. I welcome you into the dwelling of my heart to stay. St. Agatha, pray for us. Amen.
