Psalm Daniel 3:52-56
Luke 21:1-4
“…she in her poverty has put in all she had to live on.” Lk 21:4
Lord, in your word today you describe those who offer to you from their surplus in contrast to the widow who gives all she has. I must admit I am too much like the first group. When it comes to offering my time, talent, and treasure for your use I can hold back what I want for my own security. But there are also times when I do give all to you. I offer you this day I am beginning. All that I think, say, and do, dear Lord, are yours to bear fruit in my life and in the lives of my family and others. I offer you all my prayers, works, joys and sufferings this day. I offer you myself. Even if I am not aware at the time, I make all I am and do a sign of trust and love of you. This woman depended upon you to make good on your promises as I do today. Purify my heart to have the right intentions and keep me faithful to your will in all ways. You held nothing back from me on the cross, so I give myself to you this day. Amen.
