Song of Songs 2:8-14 or Zep. 3:14-18

Psalm 33

Luke 1:39-45

Sing for joy O daughter Zion!  Zep. 3:14

“Blessed are you who believed…” Lk. 1:45

Lord, we have a word for someone who is pregnant and that word is “expecting.”  When a new child is coming into the world, especially the first child, there is great cause for joy and happiness.  The parents must make a lot of preparations to welcome their new little one into their lives.  Mary went with hast to her cousin Elizabeth to share her joy with someone who could understand an impossible pregnancy.  Both women, one young and one old, were blessed by God in a most awesome way.  They were both expecting and were great support for each other.  Lord, I preparing to celebrate your coming into the world.  The Incarnation changed everything more so than the birth of a child to first-time parents.   I want to share some of these women’s joy at your coming into my life.  I can’t imagine living without your grace, your presence and your daily blessings.  I expect you to come to me when my days on this earth are over.   Make me ready and prepare my heart for that day.  I can do nothing except “sing for joy” when my “expecting” is over.  Amen.
