Colossians 2:6-15

Psalm 145

Luke 6:12-19

…he spent the night in prayer to God.  When day came, he called his disciples to himself… Lk. 6:12-13

Lord, you knew the choices you would make when daylight came would transform men, women and history itself. You went to your Father for guidance on who you should select to be your inner circle, you most trust followers and the beginning of your Church. The men you chose where not exceptional, but you gave them an exceptional mission. They would fail on their own, but you trained them well and gave them the Holy Spirit to ensure the success of their work. All but one who give their lives in bloody death for the cause of your good news.  Lord, I believe you have chosen me for some work and have given me the grace to do it. I may not know the full scope of what you have created me to be, but you never give up on me. You are so patient when I fall but you also pick me up and renew my task. Dear Jesus, sometimes I worry too much about the outcome of my efforts. I’m trying to learn to do what I can and leave the success to you. Help me to love like you do.  Amen.
