Lord, it is abundantly clear from our readings today that you desire a close, personal relationship with each of us. It’s a priority of yours to bring us close to you. The “big picture” of all that is in the bible is a God seeking an intimate, faithful and lasting relationship with us his creatures, his sons and daughters. Everything you did or said during your time among us in some way promoted or repaired that relationship. Today we hear of you choosing your inner circle, who would carry on your missions to the world. First, they had to get to know you. In their walk with you they had a glimpse of the Kingdom you came to establish. A Kingdom that will last forever. My prayer today is that my family, community, and my country will come to know you as their Savior and Lord. I also pray they will surrender to your will and always seek the common good of all. May we come into a closer relationship with you so that you will be our God and we shall be your people. Amen.
