Isaiah 7:10-14

Psalm 24

Luke 1:26-38

But Mary said to the angel, “How can this be…?  Luke 1:34

Lord, how many times have I had this same question? Questions like why did my nephew die at such a young age? Why can’t my daughter find a good job to support her family? How can I know what God wants me to do when faced with a big decision? Mary pondered the message from the angel but didn’t understand how this impossible birth could occur. Even with Gabriel’s words of assurance Mary perhaps still had many questions.  But her faith and trust in her Father in heaven took over. She may have taken a deep breath then said “OK, I’ll do it.” “I’ll make my will my God’s will. She put her entire life in the hands of God.  Lord, when I can’t understand how your grand plan is playing out in my life let me remember Mary. When faced with a big decision help me to trust that you are with me and will deliver the outcome if I trust.  May I, today, ponder like Mary, question like Mary. Thank you, Jesus, for giving me Mary as my mother and model of faith.  Amen.
