Revelation 10:8-11

Psalm 119

Luke 19:45-48

Jesus entered the temple area and proceeded to drive out those who were selling things.  Lk. 19:45

Lord, your first action upon entering Jerusalem was to purify the temple which had become corrupted.  Your priority was to restore the holiest place in Israel to its true function, a house of prayer. I’m reminded that because of my Baptism I am a temple of the Holy Spirit. Like the Jerusalem temple I too have become a corrupted house because of my sins. Your priority is to cleanse me of my sins and to restore me to the condition I was at my Baptism. Please forgive me for giving in to the ways of the world. Please forgive me for my failure to love. Please forgive me for every thought, word and deed that broke your heart. Transform my heart to become a delightful place for you to stay. Show me how to live the wonderful and beautiful life you won for me on your cross. I accept your authority over my life, and I want to “hang on every word” that comes from your mouth. Thank you for being patient with me and for walking with me on the road to eternal life.  Amen.
