Ephesians 4:7-16

Psalm 122

Luke 13:1-9

“…I shall cultivate the ground around and fertilize it, it may bear fruit in the future.”  Luke 13:8

Lord, all of us, at one time or another, have gone through periods of stagnation. We’ve experienced little growth in our jobs, marriages or other relationships. We can become stuck in a habit of sin that we can’t seem to shake. We can feel spiritually dead inside like the fig tree in your parable today. Thanks be to God you don’t ever give up on us. Thanks be to God you are patient with us. Lord, show me today one fruit I can begin to develop. Can you help me to new growth in meekness, love, joy, patience and hopeful attitudes in trying times?  Shine your light into my heart and show me how I can apply your grace to repent of my failures to love. Cultivate and water my heart to pray more faithfully, to seek wisdom in your word regularly and to wash myself clean in Reconciliation. Lord, thank you for staying faithful to me as I seek to bear fruit for your Kingdom. St. John Paul II pray for me to be aware of God’s grace that has been given to us.  Amen.
