Ephesians 1:11-14

Psalm 33

Luke 12:1-7

In him we were also chosen…  Ephesians 1:11

“Do not be afraid.” Luke 12:7

Lord, fear can be good, or it cannot. Fear is useful to energize us, focus our attention and help us handle a threat when danger arises. On the other hand, fear can cause us to become paralyzed and unable to do what you have called us to do. Fear can be a prison. It can distract us from living the abundant life you died to give us. How many times have my fears been unfounded and my worry all for nothing. Lord, you created me and know everything there is to know about me. You delight in my existence. You have chosen me for your own wonderful purposes. My life has meaning, and I am your precious, unique child.  You only ask that I believe that. You want me to trust in you in all ways. When I turn to you and place my fear and anxiety in your powerful and gentle hands, I escape the prison of worry. Lord, today I have the hope and I know there is nothing too great for me as long as I walk with you at my side.  Amen.
