2 Timothy 1:8

“Increase our faith.”  Luke 17:5

Lord, so many times I have said the same thing: “increase my faith.” I have often felt I missed the train when you handed out faith. I can feel like I’ve failed you and on the other hand I want a pat on the back for what I’ve done for you. In my heart, I believe this is a request you will always grant. So how do you see me?  What do you want from me? Lord, I really don’t think you keep lists of my failures or my successes. You don’t keep score. You look for a heart that is grateful for every breath, every heartbeat.  You delight in my trust and dependence on you for everything. You’ve said “without me you can do nothing.” The bottom line was written thousands of years ago by your prophet Micah. “You have been told, O man, what is good and what the Lord requires of you: Only to do the right and to love goodness and to walk humbly with your God” (Micah 6:8). Jesus, I offer you all I am. Help my unbelief. Teach me to serve gratefully, humbly and faithfully.  Amen.
