Psalm 24
Luke 5:1-11
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in the eyes of God… 1 Corinthians 3:19
“Master…at your command I will lower the nets.” Luke 5:5
Lord, your words to Peter didn’t make much sense. As an experienced fisherman he knew fishing during the day would not be productive. Did he think a carpenter knew more than he did about fishing? Yet, he said yes. He risked ridicule by the others. He was tired. Why bother trying something new and different? Peter’s “yes” to you that day led him to a completely new life and, with others, helped change the world. A he gained a life he never imagined. He would see and experience things much greater than a big catch of fish. It all started with his “yes.” Lord, help me to say “yes” to you today. What do you want to do with me today that is new and different? I want to be open to whatever direction you want for me. How can I change to please you? My daring to risk will come with the grace you always provide when you challenge me. I pray I will respond to the new and different as Peter did. You know best what I can do with your grace. Amen.
