1 Corinthians 1:26-31

Psalm 33

Matthew 25:14-30

It is due to him that you are in Christ Jesus… 1 Corinthians 1:30

“Well done my good and faithful servant…Come share your Master’s joy.”  Matthew 25:21

Lord, the servants were free to make choices about what to do with the enormous wealth their master gave them. They could have run off with the money and have it all to themselves. One chose to bury it in the ground and not do anything. Two of them used the money responsibly and faithfully as if it wasn’t their own. The rewards in life go to those who understand that all good comes from you. Those who respond to your generosity are given even more to work with. Today, Lord, I can expect you will give me opportunities to invest your gifts in ways that produce fruit. I humbly accept the responsibilities that come with great wealth. Out of your enormous generosity you can turn my small efforts into great results. Lord, help me to get over the idea that any success I have is due to me alone. Without you I can do nothing. Lord, I offer you all I have to do with as you will. I long to hear you say, “well done, come share my joy.” St. Monica pray for us like you prayed for your son, Augustine.  Amen.
