Revelation 21:9-14
Psalm 145
John 1:45-51
“Phillip said to him, come and see.” John 1:46
Lord, when we go through a difficult time and have a mini-faith meltdown you know it. We can lack some confidence that your purpose for us is not in place. Last night you sent a person to encourage me. You put words in her mouth that restored my confidence that I am truly blessed and someone noticed. Thank you, Lord, for the kindness and support you gave me through this woman. Phillip was sent to introduce Bartholomew to you. It reminds me I’m not always a good judge of how well I’m doing in fulfilling my purpose. I know each of us is a magnificent creation and your precious son or daughter. None of us is perfect but with your grace and the encouragement of others we can become what you’ve created us to be. Thank you for calling me to such a unique role and for blessing me with gifts and talents that give you praise. I surrender to your gift of grace. The psalm today says it well: The LORD is near to all who call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth.” (Ps. 145:18) St. Bartholomew pray for me. Amen.
