And Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart.  Lk. 2:19

Lord, your Mother Mary is such a trusting and faithful disciple.  She kept all the wondrous, miraculous and impossible things about you as treasures in her heart.  If she had any anxiety or fear about being able to be a mother to the savior of mankind she didn’t let it stop her from obeying God.  In her humility she probably didn’t comprehend everything that was happening to her family.  But I believe she knew in her heart that even if she didn’t have all the answers that God would take care of her and you in every way.  Lord, I don’t have all the answers either.  As I enter a new year of life I can look forward to how you will care for me and my family in the days ahead.  I trust you will be near in my joys and sorrows, my successes and failures, my strengths and weaknesses.  Help me to treasure every moment of life, every encounter with you and every opportunity to grow in faith.   Dear Jesus, whatever occurs in the coming year I pray for the grace to patiently ponder how you wish for me to respond to challenges before I act.  Amen.
