…whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.  Mt. 10:39

Lord, you are preparing your followers for a life of discipleship. You tell us that a true disciple must lead a life that is Christ-centered. We each have a set of priorities that help us to navigate our daily activities. You knew that when you said that following you must be the highest priority in our lives.  In our Baptism we died to anything that is damaging to our relationship with you.  Responsibilities to family, work, play or leisure are good and necessary parts of our lives but I think you are telling me that even they must not interfere with my dedication to you. Lord, you call me to a radical change in how I stack my priorities. You call me to an intimate and single-minded relationship with you because you love me enough to make my salvation your highest priority. Lord, today help me to assess how I use my gifts, my money, and my time? Do I pray and reflect on your word daily?  Am I focused on regular reception of the Eucharist? Do I bring my sins to the sacrament of reconciliation? Do I actively participate in the life of the Church?  Lord, open my heart to how I can grow in my love of you as I go about living the abundant life you have offered me.  Amen.
