Sirach 17:1-15
Psalm 103
Mark 10:13-16
All their actions are clear as the sun to him, his eyes ever upon their ways. Sirach 17:15
“Let the children come to me…” Mark 10:14
Lord, what a warm and beautiful image we have today: children on your lap and in your arms with a wide, welcoming smile on your face. I can picture you kicking a soccer ball with the whole gang. This had to be the highlight of your day. You had the weight of the world on your shoulders. You loved these children and accepted them as they were. What joy must have filled your heart while these little ones were with you. Lord, my prayer today is for you to look after my children and grandchildren. Keep your eyes on all little ones. No matter their age preserve a sense of simplicity and innocence in them. Place your angels with each one to protect them from the evil one and all harm. Dear Jesus, I bring my children to you to embrace and touch. I entrust them to you for all their days. Amen.
