Deuteronomy 4:32-40

Psalm 77

Matthew 16:24-28

“You must keep his statutes and commandments…that you and your children after you may prosper… Dt. 4:40

“…whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” Mt. 16:25

Lord, I don’t know what I would do without you.  You have been so good to me throughout my life.  You have formed me and led me to where I am today.  We’ve been through a lot together, haven’t we?  I confess the times when I tried to walk without you and take credit for my accomplishments.  All the time you were right there within me and I hardly noticed the part you played.   You have kept me from danger and forgave me when I sinned.  All I am now is due to your love and protection.  Every breath I take and every beat of my heart is directed by you.  For my part you ask me to stay faithful and to trust.  By obeying your word I enjoy the freedom, the rights and the responsibilities of being your disciple.  I give you my life today.  May all my thoughts, words and deeds be pleasing to you.  Keep me close to you as I encounter the world.  Guide my decisions and never allow me to forget you are constantly at my side.  Amen.
