“But go to my brothers and tell them…”  John 20:17

Lord, when all the rough, tough, brave men ran and hid while you were led to Calvary, Mary of Magdala stayed with you.  While Peter denied you, Mary stood at the foot of your cross.  Maybe that’s why she had the honor of being the first to see the empty tomb.  Maybe that’s why she was chosen to be the first bearer of the good news of your resurrection.  Mary Magdalene is known as the Apostle to the Apostles.  You drove seven demons from her and she was never the same again because she became “a new creation.”  She was among the many nameless women who ministered to you as you made your way around Israel.  Lord, Mary’s faithfulness is a wonderful witness to her love for you.  Sometimes I am like the Apostles when times get rough.  I look out for number one and fail to stay close to you.  Like Mary, I have been healed, restored and forgiven by you.  I am so grateful for your mercy.  Help me to follow her example of courage and faithfulness.   May I never fail to share the good news you have placed in my heart.   Mary of Magdala, pray for me.  Amen.
