July 15, 2024, Monday of the 15th Week in Ordinary Time-B ST. BONAVENTURE, BISHOP, DOCTOR OF THE CHURCH
Isaiah 1:10-17
Psalm 50
Matthew 10:34-11:1
“He that offers praise as a sacrifice glorifies me…” Psalm 50:23
Lord, this psalm leads me to reflect on how I pray. I really think that I put too much time and effort into praying for people and things. While I know you delight in my prayers of “asking”, I also know its right to just praise you. You are worthy of my praise everyday-all day. Lord, please accept my praise for creating me. I praise you for how you’ve taken such good care of me and my loved ones all these years. I praise you for standing by me when I turned away from you and when I chose to sin. What would I do without your forgiveness and mercy? I praise you for not holding all my mistakes and bad choices against me. I praise you for every breath I take and every beat of my heart. Your church and your people praise you for who you are. Praise to you for all you have created from the smallest atom to the largest galaxy. You are awesome beyond words my Lord and my God. I bow to you and fall on my knees in adoration. Today, Lord, please hear my prayer of praise of your holy name. St. Bonaventure, pray for us. Amen.
