God formed man to be imperishable; Wisdom 2:23
Lord, none of the material things of this world will last forever. Everything I have will rot, decay, or disappear one day. After a 10-billion-year life, even our sun will die out. However, you made us to last forever. You formed us in the “image of your own nature.” Unlike the rest of your creation, you have given us an eternal DNA. You assure us when our friends and relatives go through the door of death that they are in peace. They are in your loving, and gentle hands. You desire nothing should interfere with our journey to the eternal halls of heaven and union with you forever. Since we sometimes are not just, not faithful and we are forgetful of our heavenly inheritance you had a plan B. You came and gave totally of yourself on the cross so that our mistakes are wiped away and our destiny assured. Lord, thank you for making me the way you did. Thank you for loving me and inviting me to the eternal banquet. Most of all, thank you for making me for heaven. Amen.
